Milestones

Milestones are so huge in this house and we love celebrating when one of us hits one. Emma had a milestone a few weeks back when she stopped getting up in the middle of the night. Can you say "hooray"! It has been my first full night's sleep in 3 years. Ahhh! We had been working with her on being a "big girl" and staying in her bed all night. Another HUGE milestone was hit last night and I was lucky enough to be filming when it happened. Hagan took his first steps!!!! We were so excited and dancing around the living room. Lots of fun heading our way now that he's probably going to start walking soon! It was so exciting and I wanted to share the news with everyone. I have attached the video of it but for some reason I can't get the volume to work on the video so you will just have to enjoy it without the sound till I can get it fixed. The ice and snow are starting to melt so we are getting out of the house today. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Ice Storm 2009

It all started 2 days ago when I picked up Emma from dance..the ice storm hit. It was crazy! The rain froze as soon as it hit my windshield. We woke up yesterday morning to no electricity. Not good when you have 2 kids in the house! Last night it got worse and you could hear the ice hitting our house. It snowed a little too last night. Anyways..we got up this morning and went outside for a bit. It is quite cold out!! I think we are going to stay bundled up inside today. It is like Christmas Day around here. No one is open cause of the storm. Thank goodness we have electricity today!

Let's call him "Chunk"

Ok so we had Hagan's 1 year doctors appointment last week. They basically told us what we already knew. Hagan is a big boy! He weighs 24 lbs and is 30 1/6 inches long. He is 4 lbs lighter than Emma! He LOVES to eat. The other day he had a few crackers before I fed him dinner and then I fed him apple and chicken and sweet potatoes. After that we sat down to eat our dinner. We had grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken and sausage gumbo. Hagan was sitting in Jason's lap and before we knew it he had the grilled cheese and was chowing down. He loved it and then proceeded to beg for some of Jason's gumbo. It was hilarious!! He is a fat and happy baby! We are blessed to have 2 happy and healthy children!

Emma is our little dancing queen! She LOVES to dance. Her candy cane dance is hilarious. I'll try to get a video of it. Anyways...this is my little dancing queen after dancing the other day.

Capital One Bowl- Go Dawgs!!

Jason, I, Kathryn and Jud drove to Orlando New Year's Eve to spend the night and go to Georgia's bowl game. The first half was kind of slow but the second half they kicked it in gear. Glad we didn't drive all that way to see them lose! It was nice to get away for the night without the kids. We had a great time and I have to say the karaoke on the way home from Jason and Jud was fantastic! Kathryn and I were very grateful they could sing or that could've made for a long ride home...haha! Happy New Year Everyone!

Hagan's 1st Birthday

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. We took off a few weeks to go to Georgia for the holidays. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing our families. We got back about 1:30 am Saturday night and survived the trip home. It's back to routine today. I have lots to share from the holidays so I will be posting all this week. We had Hagan's birthday while we were home. I can't believe my baby is now 1. It was a lot of fun and we were glad our families got to help celebrate it with us. Hagan got lots of good presents but Emma stole the show. She thought it was her birthday so of course she opened all his presents. Enjoy the pictures!

Mom's Birthday Trip to St. Augustine

Well, we successfully surprised Mom on thursday for her birthday. She had no clue we were coming and was in shock when she saw us. We went to St Augustine for a girls trip and had a blast. Shopping and good food..what else could a girl want! I made it back safely to Arkansas and found Ft Smith to be covered in ice. Hopefully it will start melting before I have to go out to run errands. The babies are in Georgia being spoiled and having a blast. I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I'm sure I will have lots of Christmas pics to share!

Caught Red Handed!

My kiddos are constantly making me laugh. Hagan just follows Emma's lead which is a little scary. The other day Jason and I heard the kids making noises in our pantry. We were like "what are they doing in there?". We walked in and they had the bag of Honey Nut Cheerios on the floor and they were steady eating them. Emma would grab a handful and give part of them to Hagan and they were chowing down. We couldn't help but laugh! Today I picked Emma up at school and we were on the way home and she was wanting me to stop and get her something. I told her no we needed to go home and she said "Why cause you don't have any money?" I died laughing and said yes honey that's exactly right! I swear I need to buy a journal and write down every funny thing she says. Our Elf, Powkli, has been steadily reporting to the North Pole each night and I think he is going to have a bad report tonight although I think Emma might have him talked out of telling Santa. She hit Hagan today so I went over to Powkli and told him to go tell Santa that Emma was very ugly today and she doesn't need any presents for Christmas. She started crying and said "I am really sorry for hitting Hagan and I'll be a sweet girl Powkli." I think Powkli is a sucker and might not tell Santa.
