A Sunday Afternoon

Our Sundays are pretty much the same every week. Wake up, eat breakfast, get everyone ready for church, Sunday School, Church, Lunch out somewhere, go home and get the kids to bed for their naps, Jason and I watch a movie or either he goes and plays golf for a bit, the kids get up, we go outside to play for a while, I go in about 5-6 to get dinner started, we eat, get the kids bathed and in the bed, Jason and I watch tv, and then it's off to bed to start a new week. Yep, that's just about every Sunday for us. Funny huh?? We find ourselves developing certain routines but I love routines. Routines make my life so much easier. Anyways...our sunday yesterday was typical routine but it was so nice. We love just getting outside with the kids. We always like to take them for a walk in the wagon down the street. Now they are wanting to only ride part of the way and then walk back to the house. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. Time seems to fly! I want to capture every moment for it goes by so fast!

Hagan is ready to go on our walk!

Here we go!

My little princess had to stop on the curb for a picture

Isn't she beautiful!

A Day with Daddy

Today I had a conference in Fayetteville for Junior League so Jason had the kids all to himself. There is one great thing about my husband...he cleans my house while I'm gone, cooks for the kids, washes clothes....basically my house is always spotless when I get back from being gone. It's such a blessing to have a husband who helps around the house. I try not to take it for granted. Well on top of everything he did today, he also cut all the shrubs around the house which was badly needed. I think the kids had a fun day with their daddy.

First thing on the schedule for the day is they cooked breakfast. Jason said that Emma made the cheese toast for them.

They looked like they enjoyed breakfast which is both of my kids favorite meal of the day!

Next up, a picnic lunch on the porch!

After naptime, it is playtime outside till Mommy gets home!

What a great day with Daddy!

My thoughts...

The past few weeks I've been in a little bit of a stupor (is that the word??) Anyways..I find myself complaining and worrying all the time and that is not like me at all. Well yesterday, I was working on my blogs and I checked out a few of the blogs that I look at on a daily basis. I saw a list of prayer requests on one of my favorite blogs, Kelly's Korner. The prayer request was for the Ramer Family. I clicked on their blog and within the first few seconds I was in tears. This family lost their twins in a terrible drowning accident. I cannot imagine what they are going through and as I sat there I couldn't stop the tears. What do I have to complain about?? My kids are healthy and happy. I have a wonderful husband who loves me and supports me, helps me every day around the house and helps with the kids. I am so blessed and sometimes in the everyday chaos I tend to forget that I am blessed immeasurably! I needed a good kick in the butt and I certainly got one! Please pray for this family. I have been so touched by their tragedy and their faith. Tonight I am going to give my kids an extra kiss goodnight and hold them just a little tighter and a little longer.

My Little Princess

We had a great weekend! Not glad that it's monday and now over. We drove to Fayetteville saturday morning and got some goodies at the Farmer's Market. We came back home and worked in the yard. Jason twisted his ankle in a gofer hole in the yard. It looks awful! I now have an invalid husband..lol!

Emma started back dancing today and she was so excited. She got to see all her dance friends again. She is definitely my little priness and ALL girl. We got the kids teeth brushed tonight and put Hagan in the bed. Emma goes to her room about 8:30 and gets in the bed and she's allowed to watch a little bit of tv before 9. I went in to check on her and this is how I found my little princess.....

I could just eat her up at times like this! My sweet Angel! Now lets hope her horns don't come out tomorrow..lol! She's getting a little better with Hagan. I see glimpses of hope. When I dropped them off at school today he was really upset so she took him by the hand and led him out to the playground and he was fine....such a good big sister when she wants to be! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Ears Pierced

I promised Emma she could get earrings for her birthday. I picked her up early from school today and we went to go get her ears pierced. She was really excited. She picked out the earrings she wanted and sat in the chair. She was ok with everything till they got the guns out to pierce them. She started rethinking the whole earring thing after the guns. Well, I told her it wouldn't take but a second and we would get a great toy for her bravery. It took a little convincing but she held still and let them do it. She cried for about a minute and then she went and picked out a cinderella necklace and all was well then. She is very excited about her new earrings. We picked Hagan up from school and she showed all her teachers. I am very proud of her. She really did amazing!

First Day of School

Today was the first official day of school. We did a trial run with Hagan yesterday and he did wonderful. He walked right in like a big boy and enjoyed the whole day. He even took a nap on his cot!! I can't believe how fast my kids are growing. Emma was excited about school also because her friend Ainsley moved there this year. She is going to have a great school year! Emma's birthday is right around the corner and I'm busy planning. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she's asked for 2 things..a bike and earrings. She is getting both. I'm picking her up early from school tomorrow and we are going to go get her ears pierced. Pray..I have no idea how this is going to go. She thinks she knows but she has no clue what's really going to happen. Soooo....now that I have some free time on my hands with the kids in school, I think I'm going to clean. Sounds fun right?? Happy Hump Day!

Summer's Almost Gone

My Sweet Hagan

I can't believe it's nearing the end of summer. Both Hagan and Emma start school tomorrow. What in the world am I going to do with myself?? I've gotten so used to Hagan being here all the time that the quiet is going to be a little eerie! Oh well...time flies and they are growing up so fast. Hagan is saying a lot of words now and I can actually understand what he's saying most of the time. If I can't, Emma is happy to interpret for him. Emma has a birthday coming up in a few weeks. Yes my little girl is going to be 4! I asked her what kind of party she wanted and she asked for a Belle party. So...I'm trying to talk her into something different cause we have just about every disney princess thing imaginable. If I can't I guess we are just going to have a yellow themed birthday party and maybe I can get Belle to make an appearance. We are going to have to go to Disney sometime soon because she loves all the Princesses so much! Well it's monday..ughh...here's to hoping friday makes it here quickly!!

A Rare Moment

This picture capures a rare moment in our household. Emma is being sweet to Hagan which lets face it never happens. I think every mom goes through a point where they are tired of saying the same things over and over again which is what I feel like I contantly do. I'm trying to have patience and not raise my voice but it gets really hard sometimes to maintain composure. There are days I just feel like a bad mom. We went bowling last night with our Sunday School class and it was just what I needed. I was sitting around the table with a bunch of women/moms and it was nice to hear that they all go through the same problems and situations that I do. We compared notes and talked about parenting issues. I feel renewed today and I know that one day I will look back and wish these times back cause they go by so quickly. I love my children, I love being a mom, I love being a wife and I am immeasurably blessed in my life though sometimes I tend to forget. Have a great weekend!

Lake Tenkiller

We went to the lake this weekend with our good friends Grayce, Mike and Adelaide. We had a blast!! It wasn't as relaxing as I thought it would be cause I was constantly saying Emma stop that, Emma don't hit, Emma no! Other than that, it was a WONDERFUL weekend. It's always nice to get away and have some downtime. The kids loved the lake! Emma and Adelaide wanted to swim all day. Hagan loved the water too but the boat was like magic and kept putting him to sleep. We all tubed..even Hagan. He wasn't so sure about it the first time but the second time he like it so much he fell asleep while we were tubing. Grayce and I decided to go for a spin on it by ourselves..bad idea! Mike and Jason did a great job of throwing us off! I'm already hurting this morning from it! Now we are back home and back to routine. I think the kids are worn out cause they are still asleep. Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week this week!

Relaxation

We are lakebound this weekend and I can't wait! Relaxation is calling my name!! School doesn't start back till August 19th and I'm going nuts with both kids in the house 24/7! Emma and Hagan have been sent to their rooms multiple times today. On top of all this I decided to rescue a newborn kitten..what was I thinking??? She takes up about as much time as the kids do. I regress....this weekend is going to be a nice break from our everyday routine. I'll have lots of pics to post afterward. I have not been very good on my picture taking lately. I just haven't been in the mood but I'm going to try and do better. Hagan is saying a lot of words these days and Emma never stops talking. Hagan's favorite word is cracker. Seriously...I think he wakes up every day thinking about what he is going to eat! He is so funny! Well this is my last post before I get back from the lake. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!! Caio for now! :)
