Ringling Bros Circus

We had a great time at the circus. The kids loved it! Hagan loved watching all the animals but could've cared less about watching anything else. He just played with his motorcycle the rest of the time. Emma loved every part of the circus. She was very concerned about the acrobats high up in the air. We had an absolutely wonderful time at the circus and it was a wonderful experience.

Not an everyday occurance...

Since Hagan entered this world 2 years ago..Emma has been (how do I put this?) not a fan of being a big sister. Not that she doesn't love her brother, he just rocked her world so to speak when he came into this family. Emma was the first grandchild on both sides and he just disrupted her world. She is slowly coming around. Hagan loves his big sister and would follow her anywhere. She worries about him when she thinks he could get hurt but she doesn't want him to have anything to do with her stuff. There are good days and bad days but we are seeing glimpses of hope. Tonight I walked in Emma's room and her and Hagan were laying in the bed watching a movie together. It was the sweetest thing. I hope they grow into great friends!

A Lazy Day at Home

We have enjoyed a lazy day at home. We got up this morning and cooked breakfast. Jason and I went to the gym for a workout about 10:30 and then headed home for lunch. We got the kids down for a nap about 1ish and enjoyed a movie..just the two of us. We smoked some ribs for supper (which were amazing) and just played with the kids. They were so funny running around here and Emma thinks she can pick Hagan up like I do. I keep telling her he's just as big as she is! You would say it wasn't a very eventful day but for us it was a wonderful lazy day at home! :)

Back to being me....

Wow this week has flown by! Sometimes, I wish life could slow down just a little bit. I feel like I can't enjoy it enough when it goes by so fast. We have been busy and thus brings me to my new journey. I'm happy with everything in my life and I am so blessed. I have 2 wonderful kids and a loving and supportive husband. The problem is I haven't felt good about myself since I had those 2 wonderful kiddos! I know on the outside with my clothes on I look fine. I am in no way overweight. I just don't feel great. My body isn't toned and certainly isn't what is was when I was 18. I was active and energetic....not that I'm not anymore, I just don't have the energy I used to. I guess that comes with getting older. Well, i started working out 2 weeks ago when Jason and I decided to join the gym. I am loving it. I am working out almost every day of the week. I feel better than I have in years! I am slowly getting back to being me.

As for those wonderful kiddos of mine....they are wonderful. Still loving school! Emma has ballet today which kind of makes it a crazy day. Hagan usually naps for 3-4 hours and I'm going to have to cut it short today to make it to dance in time. I've got to go get Emma signed up for Pre-K next year. I can't believe my little girl is so close to Kindergarden. We are gearing up for a nice weekend at home. I love weekends when we just spend it at home..cooking, watching movies, playing with the kids. It's nice to have that time together. We need a lazy weekend every now and then!

School Days

Getting ready for school every morning is like a marathon! We are running around like crazy people. I have to have the kids to school by 8:45 and Hagan usually doesn't wake up till 8. So, I have to throw breakfast together and get the kids dressed and out the door as quick as I can. Emma is in Pre-k. She turned 4 Sept 12 so technically she isn't supposed to be in the program yet but they let her anyways to see how she would do. The teachers say she is doing fantastic. We are so proud! Hagan is in the Early 2's and he is doing great as well. He knows all his letters and their sounds. I think this is going to be a really great school year! I snapped the kids picture this morning running out the door to school. They had their backpacks on and were ready to go.

My new friend

I feel like since we moved back everything has kind of been a whirlwind. We have been here and there and everywhere. You know..the Holidays are crazy and it's wonderful being so close again. This was our first weekend home alone..just the 4 of us. It was nice. We went out for dinner friday night and then went to The Grill for milkshakes which the kids LOVED!! I think Hagan ate 90% of each of ours. Saturday we were just lazy and hung around the house. I prefer lazy weekends. Tt gives us time to just hang out with the kids and Jason and I got to watch some movies during nap time.

I have a new friend....The Pioneer Woman. Oh yes...got her cookbook today and I can't wait to try it out. As most of you know, I LOVE to cook and LOVE to try new recipes so I can't wait to break in my new book this week! I read her blog all the time so I am so excited and can't wait to dig into it!! If you haven't heard of her, you MUST check her out. I LOVE her!

Well, on to a new week. We are back in the swing of things and the kids are starting their 2nd week of school. They are loving it so far and I'm hearing great things from their teachers. Emma has started dance and gymnastics and loves every minute of it. We are glad to be getting a routine down now. It makes for peace in our house....except right now while the both of them are running around like wild hyenas! Hagan's new phrase is "hey mommy watch this" and then he does something silly. His personality is really shining these days and I love every minute of it!

McCormick Family Weekend

I am stuffed! I think we ate and ate and ate this weekend. All the McCormick's came into town. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and the kids loved playing with their cousin Britt. It is so nice being so close now and we can enjoy seeing everyone more often. The kids had a ball but now it's time to get back into routine...ugh! Back to normal this week! The kids have been upstairs since we got home yesterday playing with their toys. It's like Christmas all over again since they have been gone a week. Happy New Year everyone!!

Goodbye 2009...Hello 2010!

I can't believe it is 2010! Time has flown by this year. I haven't made my resolutions yet but I'll get to them. I have no clue what I want to accomplish this year. We enjoyed ringing in the New Year with friends. We had a lot of fun. Jason's family came up this weekend and I'll have lots of pics to post tomorrow from the weekend. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year!!
